We did Shad + Kassidy’s Formals down in Moab, Utah. What a gorgeous location! We took most of their pictures around Double Arch and Elephant Rock. These guys have a huge fondness for the red rocks and getting their formals done here was actually a dream of their’s — I was happy to contribute to and accommodate that dream! They actually had a few ideas and contacted several photographers about all of them, but no one would agree. But when they asked me I was readily on-board!

I dragged my husband and baby down to Moab with me while I shot Shad + Kassidy’s sessions (we took photos over the course of two days) and we (my family) camped in our Jeep tent for fun!

Kassidy bought her dress from Latter-day Bride and she told me she planned her entire wedding around these red rocks, including the dress she purchased. They even chose a venue up in northern Utah based on what location would look good with their Formals photographs blown up for decorations with all that red and orange.

The most hilarious part of this shoot was that Kassidy did a first look for Shad dressed as an inflatable shark. It was hands down the best reaction to a first look I’ve ever shot!
