Cottrell Family Pictures | Paradise Valley Orchard in Paradise, Utah

The Cottrell Family and I did their family pictures out in Paradise Valley Orchard in Paradise, Utah, where I’m from. It was an absolutely beautiful night. Rachel coordinated their Sunday-best outfits perfectly. The night was one for the books! It felt like nothing could go wrong. This family was so fun to work with, and their twin boys Hank and Cory were adorable!

I’ve never worked with two-year-olds who were so ready to listen and love on their parents. They had a lot of fun posing with each other, and you could tell these boys are living their best lives when they are with each other! Josh was so sweet with his boys, and those shots of just the three of them ended up being some of my favorite of the whole session.

Rachel runs the cutest company called The Bloom Design Company which provides side hustlers like me with the marketing tools and resources I need to grow my business. I look up to her as an entrepreneur so much, and you’ve gotta check her out! I loved shooting her family pictures, and I can’t wait to work with these darling boys more in the future!

The Stubbs Family | Hyde Park Canyon in Cache Valley, Utah

After first talking with Gaby and Josh about doing their family pictures, I immediately had the perfect idea of where to do their photo shoot. They’re so sweet and adventurous that even me saying, “You’re going to need four-wheel drive for where we’re going!” didn’t even deter them.

We went pretty far up Hyde Park Canyon and found the most beautiful location to shoot, seriously like it was just out of a storybook. There were beautiful, untouched sunflowers almost as far as the eye could see!

Gaby and Josh have been married for seven years and have a darling little girl named Ally. They are living here in Logan, Utah while Josh finishes up school at Utah State University. Both Gaby and Josh are from Moab, which is probably why they’re so beautifully tan. They will be moving back down there as soon as he graduates. Gaby is an elementary school teacher, currently taking a break from work to raise her daughter.

This family is so beautiful and was lovely to work with during their session. I can’t wait to see them again!

Storrs Family Pictures | Ogden Botanical Gardens

The Storrs family lives in West Jordan, and while I live in Logan, Utah, we decided to meet in the middle for their family pictures at the Ogden Botanical Gardens. These gardens are such a beautiful setting to take family pictures at, and often over-looked so I always love coming here. It’s never super crowded, the lawns and gardens are beautifully manicured, and the lighting is always fantastic!

I’ve know the Storrs my whole life! Selena and I have been best friends since we were toddlers, holding hands through our strollers when our moms would take us on walks! The Storrs wanted to get family pictures taken before their son left on his mission to South America. They said this is the last time they are taking family pictures until another member is added to their family, whether that be a wife for Austin or a baby for Selena and Reinaldo!

Selena and Reinaldo have been married for almost a year! I have taken lots of photos for this lovely family, from these family pictures to Selena and Reinaldo’s engagements and formals last year! The family word shades of red and wanted pictures next to lots of red flowers, which was super easy to do at the Ogden Botanical Gardens, and I think the pictures turned out lovely!

Waite Extended Family Session | Mantua, Utah Poppy Fields

I took family pictures for the Waite family in Mantua this year, and it was a BEAUTIFUL session! Their whole extended family came, from grandma and grandpa on down. This family is actually rooted in Hyrum, Utah, which is only a few minutes away from where I grew up in Paradise, Utah, so it was nice to connect with a family so close to home.

The family dressed in coordinating outfits using shades of pink and blue, both of which are super popular colors right now. We shot in two locations in Mantua. The first was the poppy fields, down towards the front. This family session was taken right at the start of the blooming season for the poppies, so it was a pretty popular spot for photographers that evening, but I think we all did a great job of cooperating and working through a streamlined process to get in and out of that first location quickly, so the crowd didn’t impact us!

Every time the grandparents kissed, the grandkids would say, “ewww, yuck!” To which grandma and grandpa responded, “How do you think you got here??” You know, typical grandparents jokes. This family was seriously a joy to spend time with, I’m telling you.

After we got what we needed in our first location at the poppy fields, we ventured up a small hill to a different spot. I can’t decide which pictures I like best from this family session because even though I LOVE all the bright pops of red from the poppies in those first photos, I also loved the really open backgrounds for the rest of the shoot.

The young boys had a blast directing me towards the end, requesting really fun combinations of groups pictures, like some with their grandpa, and just one of their uncles, or just certain people. This was such a blast, and I’m so excited to share the pictures from the Waite family photo shoot!
