I shot the Woodhead Family Pictures on the boardwalk near Garden City Park in Bear Lake, Utah. It was a gorgeous fall day, and this was the first time this family had ever had professional family pictures taken. They live so far apart from each other, spread out all across the country, and this was the first time they’d all been able to get together in 7 years!

Something a lot of people don’t know about me is how much I love managing a crowd. I know that’s a weird thing to love, but I really do enjoy it! I love organizing large groups of people and just thinking through the management and efficiency of it all, trying to get all the pictures we need before the dad’s get grumpy and the sun goes down. So extended family picture sessions like this have me all giddy for how much fun I know we’re all going to have!

I think every family should get pictures with their extended family because grandparents love to hang them on their wall and you just never know when everyone’s going to move away! It’s so nice to have a special photo memory of everyone at that stage in life.
